Clara on your tablet

Two ways in, one key. The browser way works on any account and takes two minutes. The ChatGPT way lets you just talk to her — it needs a paid ChatGPT plan.

Way 1 — the browser (2 minutes, works on any account)

1. On the Boox, open the browser and go to clara.phibel.app/portal
2. Paste your key into the field and tap Open. The tablet remembers it — you do this once.
3. Tap the browser menu → Add to home screen. Now Clara has her own icon.

You get six tabs: Ask (talk to her), Briefing (this week's cards, with the three buttons to decide them), Lesson, Waiting, Team, Log.

Boox tip: the page is built black-on-white with no animation, so it stays sharp on e-ink. If typing feels laggy, switch the screen to the faster refresh mode (Speed or A2) while you write, and back to Normal to read.

Way 2 — inside your own ChatGPT

This adds Clara as your own private GPT. You build it once in a browser; afterwards it lives in the ChatGPT app on the Boox like any other chat.

A · Build it (in a browser — the Boox browser or a laptop)

1. Go to chatgpt.com and log into your own private account.
2. In the left sidebar, open GPTs, then tap + Create.
3. At the top, switch from Create to the Configure tab. Ignore the chat-based builder — the fields are faster.
4. Name: Clara
5. Description: My twin. She measures my projects and never invents a number.
6. Instructions: copy the block below and paste it into that field.

7. Turn off Web Search, Canvas, Image Generation and Code Interpreter. Clara answers from her own measurements; the extra tools only invite guessing.
8. Scroll to the bottom, under Actions tap Create new action.
9. Authentication → choose API Key → Auth Type: Bearer → paste your key → Save.
   (If it asks for a header name instead, that is the Custom type — switch to Bearer, or type exactly X-API-Key as the header name. A blank header name silently breaks the connection.)
10. Schema → tap Import from URL → paste https://clara.phibel.app/openapi.json → Import. You should now see about 18 actions listed underneath.

12. Top right: Create → Only me → Save.

B · Use it on the Boox

1. Open the ChatGPT app on the tablet and log in with the same account.
2. Tap the sidebar → GPTs → Clara. Tap the ⋯ menu and Keep in sidebar, so she is one tap away.
3. Write your first message: What waits for me?
4. The first time she reaches out, ChatGPT asks Allow clara.phibel.app? — choose Always allow, so it stops asking.

Things worth trying

• What waits for me?
• Read me this week's briefing. — then just say the first one is useful, the second is wrong because … and she records it.
• What is my lesson this week? — and when you have done it, tell her where it can be seen. She needs the place, not the promise.
• Which of my managers has the most open work?
• What has been logged about my use of this connection?

If something does not work

• "Could not connect" or nothing happens in ChatGPT: the Authentication is almost always the cause. Open the GPT → Configure → Actions → check it says Bearer and the key is there.
• The import of the schema fails: check the address has no space at the end — https://clara.phibel.app/openapi.json
• "valid key required": the key is wrong or was replaced. Ask Frank for a fresh one; the old one stops working the moment a new one is made.
• "too many failed keys": ten wrong tries in ten minutes closes the door for ten minutes. Wait, then paste carefully.
• Clara says MISSING_DATA: that is not an error. It means she has no measurement for it and refuses to guess.

Sending Clara an idea you want to build

Tell her the idea in your own words — a couple of sentences is enough, no structure needed. She comes back with five questions, each with options, what each option would mean, and the one she recommends and why. Answer them however you like; some questions take more than one answer.

Then she writes an implementation plan for this house: which files, which site, which manager owns each step, what is still unknown, and the date by which we would know it failed. The plan lands as a request on both cockpits and waits for a yes or no — from you or from Frank. Whoever decides first decides it for both.

Try: I want a page where the farmers around Ruiri can see which seedlings are ready and reserve some.

For Frank only — swapping the key and widening the reach

1. On a computer (not the phone app — the builder only exists on the website), open chatgpt.com, sidebar → GPTs → My GPTs.
2. Next to Clara tap the pencil to edit her.
3. Top of the page: switch to the Configure tab.
4. Scroll to the bottom, under Actions click the existing action (it shows clara.phibel.app).
5. The key. Next to Authentication tap the gear → API Key → Auth Type: Bearer → clear the old key, paste the new one → Save.
6. The reach. In the same panel under Schema tap Import from URL and paste:
   https://clara.phibel.app/openapi.json?scope=ops
   → Import. The list below should grow from 21 actions to 27, with five whose names start with ops.
7. Top right: Update → Only me.
8. Back in a chat with Clara, ask: what exists on the platform? The first call will ask Allow clara.phibel.app? again because the actions changed — choose Always allow.

If the five new tools do not appear: the schema URL lost its ?scope=ops — that is the whole difference between the two schemas. If a tool answers "this needs an operator key": the key did not save; go back to step 5 and check it says Bearer.

Where else Clara lives

Telegram, in your chat with the mahelya bot — she sends the Monday briefing there. The browser and ChatGPT do not replace it; they are the same Clara, reading and writing the same files. Decide a card in ChatGPT and it is decided in Telegram too.
